ROMNEY THE LIAR'S CAMPAIGN DELIBERATELY DISTORTING THE WORK OF ECONOMISTS

Willard is trying to push his utterly unworkable, screw-the-poor, shovel-money-into-his-own-pocket tax plan. In order to bolster his case, three economists working for him have tried to argue that their ideas have broad support among economists. Only one problem:

They don't. They also lie (as usual) about the stimulus.

The Romney campaign then turns to the Obama administration’s response to the recession. “The negative effect of the administration’s ‘stimulus’ policies has been documented in a number of empirical studies,” they write. When Dylan Matthews surveyed the literature, he found 15 studies, of which 13 found the stimulus had a positive effect.  But the Romney campaign only names two studies. One is by John Taylor, a Stanford economist who advises Romney and is, as luck would have it, one of the economists the Romney campaign tapped to coauthor this brief.

Willard's campaign cited three outside economists in the paper. Ezra Klein contacted each one of them and informed them about the Romney campaign's claims. His conclusion?

[Of the] three economists named in the Romney paper, not one of [them]  would sign on to the interpretation the Romney paper gave to their work.

And Willard's response to the housing crisis?

...while the Obama administration has been tepidly supportive of plans to reduce principal for underwater borrowers, the Romney campaign opposes it.

Indeed, the Romney campaign doesn’t have a housing policy at all. “Housing” isn’t one of the issues on their Web site. The word is only mentioned twice in their 160-page economic plan. There are no recommendations in this paper. Indeed, [Glenn]  Hubbard, one of the authors of this paper and a key adviser to Romney, has advocated a large program to encourage mortgage refinancing in the past, but Romney hasn’t embraced it.

Indeed, as Nick Timiraos notes, Romney’s comments on housing have been self-contradictory. At one point, his position was, “Don’t try to stop the foreclosure process. Let it run its course and hit the bottom.”  Later, he said, “The idea that somehow this is going to cure itself by itself is probably not real. There’s going to have to be a much more concerted effort to work with the lending institutions and help them take action, which is in their best interest and the best interest of the homeowners.” But the campaign never released a formal policy resolving these tensions.

Looks like Willard's dishonesty is rubbing off on his whole campaign. Oh, and Willard...

WHERE ARE YOUR INCOME TAX RETURNS? WHAT ARE YOU HIDING FROM US??

  1. Want to hear something really disguising! We Americans have a candidate for president of the United States, namely Willard Mitt Romney, who got his start in the business world with money from those that were in some way connected to terrorist and has helped those terrorist make money over the years so that they could continue on with their terrorism! That is totally DISGUISING! When Romney first started Bain Capital he had a hard time finding investors. He was told that he might have better luck finding investors overseas. So he search around and came upon a group of people from El Salvador that were looking for ways to make money with their income. Now at that time in El Salvador there was a revolution going on between the rich land owners and the pheasant population for control of the farming lands of El Salvador. This was not just a protest revolution. This was a killing revolution. The land owners hires a secret killing force who were killing many protesters in order to put fear into the protesters. This was a known fact to the world and to Romney. However Romney still decided to team up with some of the very rich farm land owners to take their money and make investments in Bain Capital so that he could make these rich land owners richer which in turn gave the rich owners more money to hire more terrorist and buy more weapons for them so that they can kill more pheasants. Romney knew that family members of the investors were involved in the terrorist acts of killing. Those associated with the investors would brag about about the terrorist attacks while they were in Miami where they lived or were there to have meetings with Romney and Bain. Yet Romney continued to do business with these rich land owners and did so even after the terrorist killed a Bishop who was trying to speak up for the pheasants. Romney and Bain helped finance the killings of El Salvadorians. This is the kind of guy you people want to elect as your President of the United States. To read more about this story read the Huffington Post issue of 8/8/2012. I hope more media outlets look into this story some more because this is disgusting that Romney did this. Read www.mybetteramericaplan.com to see why Romney and the Republicans are bad for America.

  2. Reid is Right as Rain ...and Willard is all Wet.
‘Cause Americans have a RIGHT to see the tax returns
of anyone who wants to be their President --the highest office in the land.
NO if’s, ...No and’s, ...and NO big fat but’s about it!
    Case Closed.

ESPECIALLY with someone like Mitt -whose past and present life is
full of flip-flops, questionable business practices, tax loopholes,
hidden assets and investments, ...and who knows what else.

Confession is good for the soul, Mitt. Even for someone as soul-less as you.
So just Relax, Repent, and Release your Returns, Mr. Romney
…OR… go back to Playing with your Pet Prancing Ponies.

Come out  of your gold-plated 10-car closet Mitt,  and STOP with this
“Don’t ask, Don’t tell” nonsense!  No problem -we’ll understand.
Unless …perhaps ….just perhaps …you’re HIDING something, dear Willard?
     Inquiring minds want to know.

And you want even MORE tax cuts and loopholes for you and your rich buddies, Mitt?
WHAT GALL! These fat cats aren’t satisfied - they want it ALL ...EVERYTHING!
But tell me Mitt, just how MANY cars and houses can you hog?
And just how MANY silver spoons can you stuff into your smirking mouth?

Mitt baby, you can fool some of the people some of the time, but  -please-  take my advice:
IF you just want to run for dog-catcher then KEEP your  precious tax returns,
and clean off your car roof. OTHERWISE, if you wanna be our President, THEN PUT UP,
or shut up and go away ….preferably BEFORE the convention.

The super-rich think that they have the God-given right to do anything  they want in this
great country -while the REST of us get screwed!  ENOUGH!!! The divine right of kings
ended a long long time ago Mitt. And so should your sorry excuse for a candidacy.

Nothing personal, guy. Really.  Super-Rich, arrogant, power-hungry Republicans are people too!
It's just their "culture" that bothers me (as you're so fond of saying).
‘Cause making lots and lot of money can be SUCH a dirty business. Right, fella?

BOTTOM LINE: It’s Laundry Time, Mr. Mitt.
     ------SO COME CLEAN------.
I’m from the “Show Me” State
-where  it’s not enough to claim you’re “not a crook”
AFTER you’re President ...like Tricky Dick Nixon.

     S-H-O-W   ME    N-O-W!
