I'LL BE OUT OF TOWN FOR A WHILE, SO I NEED YOUR HELP

I will be leaving for the mainland tonight (I live in Hawaii) and I won't be blogging again until next Wednesday. So I need your help with something very important:

Get Romney the Liar on every social media site and political blog you can think of. Get people to follow me on Twitter (JosephMiller41). Viralize the posts and videos here. Spread the word across America:

THE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT IS A LYING SOCIOPATH.

In my absence, I'm sure Willard will spin more fairy tales and spew more lies. You can do your part to expose this fraud of a candidate. If we can label Romney as a liar in thrall to the most dangerous elements of the Radical Right, we will, in the words of Harry Truman, "Win this election and make these Republicans like it."

Thank you in advance for everything you do.

ROMNEY THE LIAR BLAMES OBAMA FOR STUDENT DEBT PROBLEM THAT ROMNEY HELPED CAUSE

Willard, as we all know, has no shame, no moral center, no ethics, no common decency, and not one single shred of honesty. His latest lying attack on President Obama is that the student debt crisis is Obama's fault.(!!)  This is a particularly galling lie, and it is demolished here:

That takes a kind of chutzpah Romney rarely exhibits. He won’t stand up to birther bully Donald Trump or the misogynist Rush Limbaugh, but he apparently has the cojones to blame student debt on Obama. We’ll see how it goes. In fact, American student debt is a scandal in which state and national lawmakers in both parties share some blame. But by far the lion’s share of responsibility for the debacle belongs to Republicans. The roots of the crisis go back to California Gov. Ronald Reagan, who imposed the first “fees” on the formerly free University of California system in 1968, declaring “the state should not subsidize intellectual curiosity.” As president, Reagan helped nationalize that disdain for well-funded public higher education in the 1980s.

But it took a long roster of Republican governors to turn the problem into a crisis, and Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney led the way a decade ago, dramatically slashing public higher-education funding and hiking fees during his one term. According to the Boston Globe, from 2003 to 2007, fees and tuition jumped 63 percent at Massachusetts’s once-stellar system of public higher education as Romney slashed state funding year after year, for a total of $140 million, or 14 percent, in four years. Not surprisingly, average student debt in Massachusetts jumped 25 percent while Romney was governor. Between 2001 and 2011, tuition and fees have more than doubled at the state’s community college, state university and UMass campuses, but the bulk of the added burden piled up under Romney. [Emphasis added]

Romney also wanted to spin off the flagship UMass-Amherst and privatize three other colleges, including the medical school, a harbinger of what he says he’ll do as president. That agenda failed in Massachusetts, but it would be a shame to give him a second chance as president.

Remember, when Romney blames Obama for something, Mitt Romney is usually one of the causes of the problem. Romney is INCAPABLE of telling the truth, and he is now TOTALLY OWNED by the right-wing billionaire fanatics who have pledged $1 BILLION in anti-Obama propaganda.  He is a danger to the Republic itself.

Oh, and on student loans, the only candidate trying to actually do something about the problem is the guy NOT named Romney. From the Communist Marxist Socialist Kenyan Muslim Hitler/Stalin loving Wall Street Journal, from late October 2011 :

The centerpiece of the plan Mr. Obama is expected to unveil here would allow the estimated 5.8 million people who hold both direct government student loans and government-backed private loans to consolidate their debts into one government loan.

The switch would help borrowers because the U.S. would essentially be refinancing the private loan at the lower government rate. Administration officials estimate borrowers would receive a reduction of up to 0.5% in their interest rate.

The president is also expected to say the administration is moving up the start of a program approved by Congress that caps monthly student-loan payments for borrowers with low incomes, from 2014 to 2012.

That's what a problem-solver sounds like.

When Willard talks about this issue, that's what a liar and a fraud sounds like.

ROMNEY THE LIAR CLAIMS STIMULUS "DESTROYED JOBS"

Willard is, if anything, consistent. He intends to NEVER tell the truth about any public matter, especially jobs. Now his campaign has unleashed an absolute DOOZY of a lie. Check this out, if you will:

...Romney will now go back to claiming Obama subtracted jobs. But there’s a new twist: Romney will claim that the effect of the stimulus has been to destroy jobs. As it has in the past, the Romney camp will justify this by pointing to a bogus metric — the net jobs lost on Obama' watch. That includes the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of jobs lost before the stimulus went into effect. Really: The Romney camp’s claim is that we can calculate that the stimulus destroyed jobs overall with a metric that factors in all the jobs destroyed before the stimulus took effect. [Emphasis added] That's not an exaggeration. It really is the Romney campaign’s position. It’s time to ask Romney himself to justify it.

The Romney camp will also begin claiming that Obama has “never created a job.” Will anyone ask Romney about the two dozen straight months of private sector job creation we’ve seen?

Oh, and Willard intends to destroy any meaningful attempt to regulate Wall Street, and is determined to let his old pals get away with anything they like--you know, just before his old pals almost destroyed the world economy.

Just in case you weren't sure he'd be a total bloody disaster.

Oh, and by the way, you may be interested in this summary of the stimulus's effects from the Marxist Socialist Communist Kenyan Hitlerite Islamic Terrorist rag called The Christian Science Monitor:

• California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is grateful for it. While Mr. Obama was on a podium in Washington Wednesday touting what the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) has accomplished, the Republican governor was standing on the site of an ARRA-funded highway expansion, holding his own celebration. "This money has been very, very helpful to a lot of struggling Californians," said Mr. Schwarzenegger. The state is the largest recipient of ARRA highway funds and high-speed rail funding, he said. He's not the only Republican at the state level who's glad to be on the receiving end of federal largess.

• Jobs have been "created or saved." That's the operative White House phrase, since a prominent stimulus goal has been to prevent job losses that would have occurred without the act. Nationally, the White House reckons that 2 million people have jobs now that otherwise wouldn't exist and that this number will rise by another 1.5 million during 2010, before the stimulus effect fades. Some private forecasters see a smaller impact, with the total stimulus job count peaking at about 2.5 million. The jobs are created directly by things like road projects, but also by the more general impact of the ARRA tax cuts and unemployment benefits that have put extra cash in consumers’ pockets. That makes it tricky to know the precise number of jobs in each state, although the White House offers estimates on its www.recovery.gov website.

• Lots of the saved jobs are in the public sector. On Wednesday, Obama cited estimates that 300,000 teachers and tens of thousands of jobs in public safety (from police to first responders) have been saved as the Recovery Act helped to patch state budgets.

Just for the record.

ROMNEY THE LIAR SAYS HE ISN'T A BIRTHER, BUT HE SURE SUCKS UP TO THEM

In this case, the one being coddled and praised by Willard is none other than Donald Trump, noted grifter, liar, con-man, and reality TV laughingstock. Romney says he doesn't embrace Trump's Birther insanity, but hey, isn't The Donald (retch) a great guy? The Obama people lay it out plainly:

ROMNEY THE LIAR LIES ABOUT HIS "COMMITMENT" TO EDUCATION

First, let it be said that as a (retired) teacher who proudly helped organize the union back at my school while I was still a Republican (!), I am SICK AND TIRED of right-wing coddling hacks like Mittens constantly attacking the teachers' unions and advocating vouchers for private schools, something that has been tried and has largely failed. So thank the gods for Charles Pierce. He goes after Willard's abysmal record on education in this item here. Willard talks about "not letting campaign cash come before our kids", as if Mittens were deeply committed to the well-being of our children. Pierce responds:

But, the point here is that, while he was governor, he didn't let cash of any kind get ahead of the "kids" in the public schools of the state where public education was pretty much invented. In 2006, he cut $37.8 million from the state's higher education budget. Fees skyrocketed, as they did generally throughout the state. In 2003, he tried to cut $100 milion from that same budget while raising tuition by $50 million at state colleges and universities. He also wanted to slash job training initiatives and workforce training funding. Things were rather worse at the primary and secondary level, where Romney passed down budget cuts and left cities and towns holding the bag. And that's the way it was.

Face it, Willard would rather finance another massive tax cut for himself than spend needed money on education. I also thought this little nugget was interesting:

First, Romney has repeated often that his priority in education is breaking teachers’ unions, and last month in Florida at a fundraiser when he thought he was off-mic, he said “I’m not going to get rid of it (Department of Education) completely,” and reasoned that it was important to “maintain a federal role in pushing back against teachers’ unions.” It is glaringly obvious that Romney is not interested in helping students if all he needs the Department of Education for is to break unions. The president of the American Federation of Teachers, Randi Weingarten, asked “How does it help kids when Romney wants to use the federal government to undermine teachers and their unions? Romney is out of touch. He doesn't get it.” Apparently, it is Weingarten who doesn’t get it because helping kids is the last thing on Willard’s mind, and assuming otherwise is folly...

Yesterday, a Romney spokesman said teacher unions are preventing students from getting a quality education, but they gave no evidence or cited no studies to back up their claim. For the record, as an educator for 22 years in public, private, and online education, this author can attest that unions have no bearing on a teacher’s method of delivering information or preventing students from learning. In fact, public school teachers’ unions set much higher standards for teachers than private, charter, or online educational systems and have been instrumental in advocating for students. The unions have also worked with public schools to reduce their budgets by cutting teacher salaries, health plans, retirement, reducing the workforce, and supporting unpaid furlough days.

Willard accuses the President of being unwilling to “stand up to union bosses, and unwilling to stand up for kids,” and like everything Romney says, it is a lie. The President has championed expanding charter schools, merit pay for teachers, and longer school sessions to give students more time to study and learn. The President’s support for merit pay has incited outrage among the teaching community for punishing good teachers for having to suffer the results of bad parenting. The reason Romney wants unions gone is to reduce teacher pay to meet his $19,000 middle-class income standard leaving more profits for corporate-owned and operated private schools.

Willard doesn't give a damn about public education. He simply wants to privatize as much of it as humanly possible so his buddies can profit off of it. Obama is unwilling to stand up for kids? Garbage. Romney the Liar sees your kids' school as one thing, and one thing only:

Another asset to be stripped--you know, Bain-style.

NO, ROMNEY THE LIAR DID NOT START STAPLES

Willard loves to repeat the ridiculous lie that he deserves credit for having "created the jobs" at Staples, the office supply giant. As is always the case with Mittens, the truth is 180 degrees away from where he says it is. This will help clear things up:

But Romney didn't like the idea [of Staples]at all. He thought Staples was a bad investment and turned Bessemer [an investment firm that wanted Bain to join in] down. Not once, not twice, but three times.

Only after other people at Bain pushed did Romney reluctantly reconsider. He still expressed strong opposition to the deal, but would not stand in the way of providing some backing. The proposed investment in Staples was tiny compared to other Bain deals.

Bain then made a modest $650,000 investment in Staples. Because he headed Bain, Romney was offered a seat on the Staples board. While on the board, Romney had no direct involvement in the company nor any management control. He simply showed up at a board meeting every few months. He was absent from meetings more times than he was present.

Bain made additional modest investments in Staples, for a total of $2.5 million. As soon as the company went public, Romney dumped Bain's share and was out of the investment.

When Bain got rid of its stake, Staples was still a small chain, with only 24 stores in New England and barely a thousand part-time jobs. It was nowhere near the mega-giant it would become. With time, Staples grew to more than 2,200 stores with 89,000 employees.

All of that growth occurred long after Romney had left Bain and long after he had any connection whatsoever with the company.

A company Romney thought was a bad investment. Which he demonstrated by pulling out as quickly as he could.

Hey! I bought stock in Apple once. I guess I'm responsible for the iPhone!!

You know, it occurs to me that a great many people had a role in Staples' success, often much, much more than Bain Capital's chief did. Romney simply ignores the other investors and all the people who worked so hard to create the jobs that Romney falsely takes credit for. It's been a pattern with him all through his career.

In truth, the whole Staples story is another Romney fairy tale.  You shouldn't be surprised.

ROMNEY THE LIAR NAILED ON HIS "JOB CREATOR" LIE--AGAIN

This time the truth teller is former Reagan Administration OMB Director David Stockman, explaining just what old Willard was REALLY doing. Watch, too, as Stockman deflates the phony claim about Romney's "job creation" at Staples:

Romney's chief claim to be "qualified" to be president is his so-called "business expertise". That claim is a lie. There is NOTHING about what Willard did at Bain that qualifies him to run this nation--NOTHING. Romney was a ruthless, unprincipled financier. His goal was to make megabucks for himself and Bain's investors--not jobs.  He was a failed governor. He "rescued" the 2002 Winter Olympics only with massive federal help. That's the whole story. That's all of it. The idea that Willard is ready to be president is laughable. That is, it would be, if there weren't the terrible possibility that he might lie his way into office.

But you and I will stop that from happening--together.

ROMNEY THE LIAR LIES ABOUT SPENDING--CONSTANTLY

One of Willard's favorite lies is that spending has "exploded" under President Obama, that we are facing an "inferno" of spending and debt. Once again it's time to slap down Lyin' Willard. The facts--cold and brutal as they are to Willard and the Flying Monkeys (TM)--are these, taken directly from the Kenyan Marxist Socialist CommieNazi Radical Wall Street Journal :

• In the 2009 fiscal year — the last of George W. Bush’s presidency — federal spending rose by 17.9% from $2.98 trillion to $3.52 trillion. Check the official numbers at the Office of Management and Budget.

• In fiscal 2010 — the first budget under Obama — spending fell 1.8% to $3.46 trillion.

• In fiscal 2011, spending rose 4.3% to $3.60 trillion. • In fiscal 2012, spending is set to rise 0.7% to $3.63 trillion, according to the Congressional Budget Office’s estimate of the budget that was agreed to last August.

• Finally in fiscal 2013 — the final budget of Obama’s term — spending is scheduled to fall 1.3% to $3.58 trillion. Read the CBO’s latest budget outlook.

And in graphic form:

And here:

The Right-Wing Noise Machine has been vomiting out non-stop hatred, smears, lies, and slanders against Obama for four years. A lot of people believe the lies, unfortunately. Romney, being a natural, reflexive liar, eagerly repeats these vicious falsehoods. But the truth refutes him, every time.

He's not going to stop lying folks. It's up to us to make him pay for it.

And we will.

ROMNEY THE LIAR LIES ABOUT PUBLIC SECTOR JOBS--AGAIN

Willard continues to distort the economic record at every turn. Now he says that President Obama deliberately "bailed out" the public sector in his stimulus, and that the public sector needs to shrink. In point of fact, it already has. The facts are these:

Paul Krugman posted this chart last week: [Click to enlarge]

Krugman explained, "That spike early on is Census hiring; once that was past, the Obama years shaped up as an era of huge cuts in public employment compared with previous experience. If public employment had grown the way it did under Bush, we'd have 1.3 million more government workers, and probably an unemployment rate of 7 percent or less."

If you take all the job losses that have happened under President Obama, and all the job gains over the same period, the economy is still in the hole -- but nearly 100% of the losses are from the loss of government jobs.

This may seem counterintuitive, and the right simply chooses not to even consider the facts on the merits, but the principal difference between our fragile recovery and a more robust recovery is the domestic austerity measures that have been in place -- and served as a counter-stimulus for three years.

In point of fact, it is REPUBLICAN state governors that have overwhelmingly been purging public employees. Romney is saying the EXACT opposite of the truth when he says that the public sector was bailed out, just as he lies about EVERY aspect of economic policy.

But hey, what else can Willard the Sociopath do? The truth would defeat him.

That's why I'm spreading the truth as widely as I can.

ROMNEY THE LIAR TELLS DESPICABLE, BRAZEN LIE ABOUT AUTO INDUSTRY JOBS

You know, I'm just coming to loathe Willard and his lies. This one is particularly brazen:

On the president’s watch, about 100,000 jobs were lost in the auto industry and auto dealers and auto manufacturers, so he’s hardly one to point a finger.

A pathetic, typical damned Romney BS lie. Here is the truth of the matter, from the Bureau of Labor Statistics

Auto industry employment:

January 2009:                        690,700

June 2009 (the low point)  624,400

April 2012:                               763,800

Uh, Willard? That's a gain of almost 140,000 jobs from the lowest point, when OBAMA'S rescue of the auto industry started to be felt. Even if one wishes to start at the very beginning of the Obama Administration, there is still a gain of over 73,000. The claim that 100,000 auto workers have lost their jobs is yet another way that Mitt Romney spits in people's faces by assuming they're too stupid or gullible to check up on him.

But I'm not.

ROMNEY THE LIAR AT HIS "BEST"

In February, Willard uttered the vile lie that President Obama wanted to make America "a less Christian nation" The President has NEVER said any such thing, EVER. This is what he actually said, in 2006:

Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation – at least, not just. [Emphasis added] We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, a Buddhist nation, and a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers.

Willard, being a natural and reflexive liar, twisted this absolutely true and accurate statement into some sort of attack on Christians. When asked about this recently, Mittens gave this priceless answer:

"I'm not familiar, precisely, with exactly what I said, but I stand by what I said, whatever it was."

Ha Ha Ha! "I stand by what I said, whatever it was". Awesome! Willard, you lying clown, don't you know that you have to keep your lies straight in order for them to be effective?

"Whatever it was"...Gawd, I love it.

ROMNEY THE LIAR CONTINUES TO REPEAT THE SAME ECONOMIC LIES OVER AND OVER

Willard was in rare form recently. Not rare because he was lying--hell, that's almost every time he opens his mouth--but in the breathtaking audacity of his lies. These particular lies had to do with government spending and debt. Example, from the Associated Press:

ROMNEY: "America counted on President Obama to rescue the economy, tame the deficit and help create jobs. Instead, he bailed out the public sector, gave billions of your dollars to the companies of his friends, and added almost as much debt as all the prior presidents combined."

THE FACTS. Hardly. Presidents from George Washington through George W. Bush ran the national debt up to $10.62 trillion, the amount it was on the day Obama took office. Today, it is $15.67 trillion, according to the Treasury Department's Bureau of Public Debt. So it has gone up by $5.05 trillion under Obama. That's roughly half of the amount amassed by all the other presidents combined.

In short, the debt has gone up by about half under Obama. Under Ronald Reagan, it tripled.

**********

ROMNEY: "The people of Iowa and America have watched President Obama for nearly four years, much of that time with Congress controlled by his own party. And rather than put out the spending fire, he has fed the fire. He has spent more and borrowed more. ... When you add up his policies, this president has increased the national debt by $5 trillion."

THE FACTS: Much of the increase in the debt is due to lower tax revenues from depressed corporate and individual incomes and high joblessness in the worst recession since the Great Depression. The recession officially began in December 2007, when George W. Bush was president and the national debt stood at just over $9 trillion. Financial bailouts, stimulus programs and auto rescue spending that started under Bush and continued under Obama contributed to the run-up of the debt.

But so did the Bush-era tax cuts enacted in 2001 and 2003. With bipartisan support, Congress has extended the tax cuts until the end of this year, and Romney's proposals for big cuts of his own would risk another squeeze on revenue.

And don't forget, Willard has promised to give himself and his super-rich buddies a monster tax cut, one that will blow a shockingly huge hole in the deficit. Even if Willard strips every dollar from every domestic program for the poor, his gigantic, absurdly unnecessary defense increases, coupled with his intention to wait a few years before destroying Medicare, will put this nation in a financial death spiral.

Oh, and just for the record, here's the source of our debt problems:

Here's another way of looking at it, from last year:

I think we know what the problem is:

It's electing pathological right-wing liars like Willard.

And that's the REAL truth.

WATCH ROMNEY THE LIAR'S NON-STOP LIES, EVASIONS, DOUBLE TALK, AND FLIP-FLOPS

Holy crap. This will take about 19 minutes. If you had any doubts about Romney's utter lack of scruples and honesty, this will destroy them. My God, the depths of this guy's sheer mendacity are breath-taking. He MUST be stopped from winning this election. He MUST BE STOPPED.

ROMNEY THE LIAR LIES ABOUT HAVING BEEN A VICIOUS HOMOPHOBIC BASTARD IN HIGH SCHOOL

This is just sickening:

The [Washington] Post story led with a vivid description of Romney repeatedly clipping the hair of a young man - presumed by other students to be gay - while other classmates pinned him to the floor, as the victim screamed for help and his eyes filled with tears. "I don't remember that incident," Romney told Kilmeade. "I tell you I certainly don't believe that I ... thought the fella was homosexual. That was the furthest thing from our minds back in the 1960s. So that was not the case. But as to pranks that were played back then, I don't remember them all but again, high school days - if I did stupid things I'm afraid I gotta say sorry for it."

Phillip Maxwell, an attorney in Michigan, confirmed to CBS News that the incident with [victim] John Lauber is accurately described in The Washington Post piece. Maxwell was one of the Post's four on-the-record sources. A fifth asked not to be named. Maxwell says the only thing not accurate is that the Post reporter said the incident occurred in a dorm room, but it happened in a common room.

"Mitt was a prankster, there's no doubt about it. This thing with Lauber wasn't a prank. This was, well, as a lawyer, it was an assault. It was an assault and a battery. And I'm sure that John Lauber carried it with him for the rest of his life," Maxwell told CBS News.

"I've carried this story with me a long time. It was very disturbing. I think that view is shared by everyone involved in it," Maxwell says. "It just was a black mark on my character that I didn't stop it."

The hair-cutting incident, according to The Washington Post, was confirmed by five of Romney's classmates who described the event as "senseless, stupid, idiotic" and "vicious."

...Romney was also remembered as having shouted "Atta girl!" when another closeted gay student tried to speak up in the classroom. Romney said he did not recall that incident. "You know there are a lot of times, my guess is at a boys' school when one of the boys do something and people say 'hey atta girl,'... I had no idea that he was gay," Romney explained when asked about the comment. He again apologized for having offended anyone, saying no harm was intended.

The ugliness of this, which in my view reveals deep-seated character issues, is compounded by the fact that Willard claims he doesn't remember any of it.

That's just a damned lie.

As Andrew Sullivan puts it:

...the story of the attack on the young nonconformist gay boy is a particularly ugly piece of bullying. It was a vicious and violent assault by a mob organized by Romney, who held him down on the floor, and cut his hair with a pair of scissors.

I do not believe Romney has no memory of this. I believe he is lying. His absurd statement that he has no memory of the event but that he didn't target the boy for being gay is hilarious for its self-contradiction. A boy who routinely snickered "Atta girl!" when one young gay kid in his class spoke up is not just bashing hippies. I went to an all boys high school in the 1970s. What Romney did was a gay-bashing.

Look, Willard has no capacity for empathy at all. None. He is completely incapable of imagining himself in the shoes of another person. His nasty streak apparently goes WAY back. From his career spent destroying other people's livelihoods to his brutal, screw-the-poor economic plans, Willard has only one concern: Gratifying himself. I mean, if it doesn't line Willard Romney's pockets (and give him an outlet for his natural sadism), he ain't interested.

Now of course, Mr. States Rights intends to push a constitutional amendment forbidding states from deciding the issue of gay marriage for themselves, just as he intends to push for an amendment conferring "personhood" on a zygote that would effectively reduce women to second-class status. After all, he'll do anything his demented right-wing overlords demand. And lie about what he's doing.

By the way, John Lauber died in 2004. Do you think Willard ever apologized to him?

STEVE BENEN CHRONICLES THE BLATANT FALSEHOODS OF ROMNEY THE LIAR

If anyone is doing yeoman's work in exposing Willard's flood of lying BS, it's Steve Benen at The Maddow Blog. Every week he chronicles more lies from Mittens the Sociopath. This week alone, he has, among other things, the following:

1. In a speech in Ohio, Romney referred to the Bush/Cheney era as "before the recession."

The recession began in late 2007, more than a year before President Obama's inauguration. The economy crashed in September 2008, four months before Obama took office. Someone who claims an expertise in economic policy probably ought to know that.

2. In the same speech, Romney summarized his message to young people: "[I]t's so critical, in my view, for you to consider what's in the best interest of not just yourself, but of America, over the coming century, and it is to stop the excessive overspending."

Annual domestic spending is already on track to become the smallest share of the economy since Dwight Eisenhower's administration.

3. Romney acknowledged that President "inherited" the recession, but added that Obama "didn't make it better."

That's plainly false.

4. In the same speech, Romney said once "Obamacare" is implemented, "government at all levels" will "consume" 50% of the American economy.

David Corn explains today that this is Romney's arguably "biggest fib," which falls "somewhere between 'ridiculous' and 'stupid.'"

5. Also from that speech, Romney said Obama's record includes "the first trillion deficit in history."

That's a blatant lie -- the day Obama was inaugurated, there was a $1.3 trillion deficit Bush had left for him to clean up.

There's MUCH more, and Benen does this EVERY WEEK.  Benen is fighting for truth against the most shameless liar in modern political history. Check him out--and let people know the kind of mendacious lowlife we're really up against.

ROMNEY THE LIAR'S CAMPAIGN CLAIMS AL QAEDA GREW STRONGER AFTER BIN LADEN WAS KILLED!!

Yeah, that headline deserved two exclamation points. These people are simply freaking unbelievable--literally:

Romney foreign policy adviser Walid Phares told Canadian CTV last week:

[E]liminating Osama Bin Laden was part of the war withal [sic] Qaeda and an act of justice. But reality is that al Qaeda after Bin Laden’s killing is stronger everywhere it has a presence. From Yemen to Somalia, to the Sahel, as wel [sic] as in Pakistan and Afghanistan, al Qaeda has more militants, more battlefields and a new generation of commanders. Killing Bin Laden was one single operation in a war that is raging and growing.

Now that you've heard from him, here's the truth:

Data from the National Counterterrorism Center’s Worldwide Incidents Tracking System shows that, in the past year alone, there has been: a 16 percent drop in successful attacks by the al Qaeda network; a 65 percent drop in successful attacks by the al Qaeda network outside Africa; and a 35 percent drop in casualties caused by al Qaeda. Twenty-two al Qaeda network senior-level operatives and leaders have been captured or killed since May 2011. [Emphasis added]

You just watch, folks--Romney and His Flying Monkeys (TM) will be rolling this BS line out over and over this year. They'll try to claim that President Obama has let our enemies grow stronger--the EXACT OPPOSITE of the truth. It's what the Romney people do, all of them, as naturally as breathing:

Lie. Just like Willard, the King of Lies, himself.

ROMNEY THE LIAR IN A NUTSHELL

NO, ROMNEY THE LIAR WOULD NOT HAVE GONE AFTER BIN LADEN

It's been a year since President Obama's bold decision to send the heroic U.S. Navy Seals in to Pakistan to kill the vicious, mass-murdering criminal Osama bin Laden. Recently, Willard has been saying that "any president" would have given such an order, to downplay the significance of this action. But once again, Willard is shown to be a liar by his own words. Let us travel back to 2007:

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney criticized Democrat Barack Obama on Friday for vowing to strike al Qaeda targets inside Pakistan if necessary as the Obama camp issued a strident defense of his plan.

"I do not concur in the words of Barack Obama in a plan to enter an ally of ours... I don't think those kinds of comments help in this effort to draw more friends to our effort," Romney told reporters on the campaign trail.

Obama on Wednesday said if elected president in November 2008 he would be willing to launch military strikes against al Qaeda targets inside Pakistan with or without the approval of the Pakistani government of President Pervez Musharraf.

"If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won't act, we will," Obama said.

Romney, the former Massachusetts governor who is one of the Republican front-runners, said U.S. troops "shouldn't be sent all over the world." He called Obama's comments "ill-timed" and "ill-considered."

D'oh! Willard keeps forgetting that people actually record his various droppings. And is it really unfair to point out that Romney said, in April 2007, “it’s not worth moving heaven and earth spending billions of dollars just trying to catch one person” ? John McCain didn't think so:

Romney’s “heaven and earth” line proved a gaffe at the time as well. Sen. John McCain, who tried to portray Romney throughout the race as weak on national security, told blogger Jennifer Rubin that “it takes a degree of naiveté to think [bin Laden is] not an element in the struggle against radical Islam.”

Byron York, columnist for the National Review, held nothing back, writing at the time, “we have already spent billions and gone to a lot of effort to try to get bin Laden … it would be worth still more money and still more effort to kill the man behind 9/11.”

“I can’t imagine any serious Republican candidate for president would say otherwise,” York wrote. “Perhaps Romney should watch the tape of the planes hitting the towers again.”

Romney walked back his remarks in a Republican debate, saying “We’ll move everything to get him. But I don’t want to buy into the Democratic pitch that this is all about one person — Osama bin Laden — because after we get him, there’s going to be another and another.”

Now it’s coming back to haunt him, especially as Romney has tried to minimize the Navy SEAL raid by suggesting “any president” would have done the same thing.

No, Romney didn't really think it that important, certainly not important enough to enter Pakistan to actually kill bin Laden. The truth of the matter is, if it had up to Willard in 2011, bin Laden would still be living in his villa in Pakistan.

Oh, and more thing: in answer to radical right-wing criticism that Obama is "politicizing" the bin Laden raid, I would remind everybody that I had to live through draft-dodger Bush, AKA "Commander Codpiece" playing dress-up and prancing around on an aircraft carrier when he was proclaiming that the Iraq war was "over".  I also remember the Republicans shamelessly exploiting the 9/11 attacks for their own advantage, including playing footage of them at the 2008 Republican Convention. So I don't think I'll listen to any whining about politicizing the bin Laden raid. I just remember that "Mission Accomplished" banner.

And I don't think I'll believe anything Willard has to say on any subject.
